I really hate clothes shopping. This is, as I understand it, typical of most guys. I don't, however, hate clothes shopping for girls. Shopping for girls involves me sitting around a lot and thinking while the girl tries things on, it involves me carrying bags, it involves me giving a girl the once-over. These are things I'm good at and the first and the last are things I enjoy. Shopping for girls is easy.
I hate clothes shopping for myself. I do not sit, as those who know me may have figured out, at the height of fashion. I'm very comfortable dressing comfortably. But I'm also fairly particular about what I like. When I find something that works I try to stick with it. In theory, this is supposed to make things easier. This way I don't have to try on clothes, I don't have to worry about returning what I buy, etc. This is why I've been wearing the same exact type of shoe for the past eight years.
This can lead me to trouble, though, as it did today, when I spent about 3 hours driving around to no fewer than 2 malls and 3 non-mall stores to try to find a properly colored pair of boot-cut Levi's jeans. I got home to discover, from the levi's website, that they don't make the particular jeans I want anymore, anyway. I've got to buy them either an inch short or an inch long.
So much for it being easy. At least I can buy them online.

Shopping
usually its one of those things i just dont do unless i have to.
for example after quite some time i finally went to a gym.
and oh boy i felt like i was in a designers contest everyone had the latest fashion in sportswear.
im not easily moved by fashion but i think ill cave in this time with help of my girl as ill let her choose for me what to get since some of my friends tell me i have a terrible fashion sense and that my girl couldnt do worse than me :)

I'd like to reaffirm that your shoe choice is good. I've been wearing the Sambas now for at least 2 years, and I have a back-up pair in my closet.
Also, wearing them with a suit gives you a quirky, generally favorable, fashion response from those around.

My taste in shoes rocks on toast, yeah. My taste in anything else... well, whatever. I don't dress to impress.
Wiki's are odd things, Gus. I linked to one a few months back, when I'd found the site with my world travel map. The principle behind them - the idea of a shared pool of gathering knowledge - is really cool. The drawback is that anyone can change anything on the wiki, so if a bunch of idiots get it in their heads to screw with people they can pass out some false info. In theory, though, the mass of smart people making positive change will quickly overwhelm the few morons. In theory.

Marc, you generate this response no matter what you wear. It's not fashion sense it's the instinctive reaction to "nature's warning signs."
