It Came From The Web

The internet turns up the most tremendously amusing things, sometimes...

First, what may well be the best comic ever: Hitler vs. Stalin. It's in Russian, but there's a translation on the page. Read it. It's sheer lunacy.

(The site is, in fact, an entire page of Russian comics and discussion on Russian translations of American comics. Tremendously cool. Yet another great motivation for learning Russian.)

While we're on the subject, someone sent me a link yesterday to a book that I've wanted for the better part of three years without even knowing it existed: Occultism in Russian and Soviet Culture. Wild!

Last, something Bekah might appreciate most: Wilfried Stroh Reads The Aeneid. In Latin! Also on the page is Stanley Lombardo reads The Iliad. In ancient Greek! The site, wiredforbooks.org, has a host of other audio files, including readings of Alice in Wonderland and a few of Shakespeare's plays. All that stuff is in English, though.

Yay for the internet.
