It Ain't No Thang

Let's talk about slang. I use it, you use it, we all use slang. A lot of times we don't even realize it's slang because it's so internalized. However there are some folks out there who don't really know much about it. Folks who aren't really from the United States and don't so much speak English as a first language.

So, as a public service (requested by none other than The Ogre who does, in fact, speak English as a first language), take some time to think about slang as you talk to people over the next few days. Be aware of what you say. Then come back here and post some examples of slang in the comments section.

You'll be doing something good. Thanks for your support!

(And, to note, please don't hand over linkes to the Slang site or to the Urban Dictionary or whatever. As Ogre put it "the thing is much of that stuff is offensive and a lot of it isn't commonly used, so the difficulty with a site like that is [how to tell] which of those things are acceptable and commonly used. It's fine to go to look something up, but not to find words to use necessarily.")
