Paintabulus

Thanks to The Ogre™ I was able to find the painting I was looking for. It's called The Storm and isn't Pre-Raphaelite but is from the remarkably similar (and chronologically concurrent) Academic Art style. It was painted by a French fellow named Pierre-Auguste Cot and is hanging in the Met, which explains why I was so certain that I'd seen it before; I have, in person, multiple times.

I was clearly mistaken about the open field of grain and the directional orientation of the action. I think I was combining The Storm with the Wyeth painting Christina's World. Silly me.

I also learned from The Ogre last night that kids love indentations and that he always died from dysentary and therefore never had the chance to catch typhoid.

So, in summary: The Ogre rules, and the rest of you are a bunch of useless losers. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Brian:

How do you call the rest of us a "bunch of useless losers" in the nicest way possible?

Jason:

With a wink and a grin, Brian. How else?

Brian:

You ole smoothie. I knew there was a way you could do it.
