"Dear Jason,
We notice that you recently paid us a lot of money. We would prefer if you don't do that. You see, that way we get to charge you interest. But look how low the interest is! It's like you wouldn't be paying us a lot of money at all! And we promise we won't rub it in or anything."

Yeah, the quotes are sort of a thrower there, huh? I was actually paraphrasing. The actual letter said something like "we don't want to lose your business, so please remember we have low interest rates."
I think, actually, that the idea was "if you've just done a balance transfer here and used some other credit card to pay us off, you might want to reconsider and remember that our rates are probably lower than theirs are." Something like that.

We've been overpaying on our car payments, just to try to stay ahead of the pain. Honda has started to send us payment stubs that say "Pay This Ammount: $0.00"
What they really mean to say is "STOP! Please stop giving us money! We can't charge you more interest if you keep giving us money. Please stop. Please?"

he he he it's always a good policy to pay all the charges in the credit cards the bad thing is that your credit history wont increase a lot.
i have a friend that always has its limit maxed out but pays on time so the credit card companies are always glad to raise and raise and raise his credit limit...

Yeah, exactly. To both Eric and Gus.
Actually, my car company has now started sending me letters that effectively say, "well, ok, if you're so determined to keep paying in advance, you can pay us absolutely everything you owe us and you'll save $X off of interest." I laughed at that for a while.

I've always tried to treat my credit card like a secondary chequing account. I generally just use it on the weeks between paycheques, and then pay it off them.
Ok, and its also very useful for making purchases in advance that I'd normally have to save up for a few months for. Like my iPod.
I've never gotten a letter from them telling me that I'm paying them too often, though. lol.
My phone company loves me, though. Becuase they never send me bills, so I never know when I need to pay up. So I end up getting interest on my bill becuase I never know when there IS a bill.

Hhm. What a novel concept, Mr. Bard - only buying things you can afford to buy! Genius!
