to the comment-spammer who posted more than thirty online poker ads between this blog and the Fables in the middle of the night, from over twenty five IP addresses, thereby forcing me to spit into the wind by deleting the spam and banning the IP addresses:
There is a very special layer of hell reserved for people like you, and in that layer of hell people like me are given egg beaters and stacks of poker chips and asked to be creative.
I am very, very creative.

there is a new tag accepted by browsers so they wont index those past as part of the search engine if you use it.
It tends to discourage spammers.
on the other side you are so famous that you receive spam congrats :)

Here's an edited three panel comic to make all your blues go away, Jason. This is taken from an old Authority strip I joked about making.
PAGE 1
Three horizontal panels, each taking up a vertical third of the page.
Panel 1
Over the shoulder of SPAMMER IDIOT as he types away at his computer. He's pimply, looks to be in his mid twenties, and by the decor of the room obviously lives in his mother's basement.
1 SPAMMER: "Heh. This poker game is gonna RULE! I bet no one will believe they can beat me if I post somewhere like THIS!"
Panel 2
Same POV as last panel. SPAMMER is turning around to find THE MIDNIGHTER stepping out of a Door. MIDNIGHTER is holding a manual eggbeater (the one with the handle on the side) and a lemon reemer.
1 MIDNIGHTER: "Hi."
Panel 3
SPAMMER is collapsed on the floor. He's not wearing any clothes. He's curled into a ball, sobbing. MIDNIGHTER is facing the wall.
1 MIDNIGHTER: "Door."

Grr... Another two on the Fables this morning.
Gus: I would, but I do want search spiders to index my site, drawing in more readers and whatnot. So, I'm stuck with this pain, until I figure out how to force a preview mode, which seems to help on some other blogs.
Bard: Awesome stuff, but I have to admit that the Batman version worked a little better. But, man, how great it would be to have my own personal Midnighter to send after people I didn't like...

one thing is to index your site; and another is to index the comments that people post on it, it's a small price to pay but it will benefit you in the long run

Hhrm. Thanks, Gus, but I'll pass - the tag doesn't actually do anything to prevent the spam from accruing, just makes it un-indexable. It's not likely to get indexed before I delete it a few hours later. Plus, I'd have to delete it eventually, anyway.
I appreciate the thought, though.
